Jean Metropolit joined Employment Central in May 2013, as Manager. She is a long time Yukoner arriving after she completed her degrees at McMaster University and University of Toronto. Her experience includes over 30 years working with Labour Market Programs with both the federal and territorial governments in Whitehorse. She held the position of Manager of Employment Programs with Service Canada and LMDA Coordinator for Advanced Education. In addition, Jean recently worked as an Intergovernmental Affairs Officer with Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development in Whitehorse. Jean enjoys the outdoors and one of her favorite past times is kayaking.
Claudine joined Employment Central in March 2013 as an Employment Counsellor when she moved from Inuvik to Whitehorse. She’s worked in outdoor education as well as in schools in BC and the NWT. Claudine looks forward to discussing your employment goals.
When you arrive at Employment Central this is usually the first person you will meet. Lisa holds her finger on the pulse of the labour market; her knowledge of local employers is astounding! Lisa moved to Whitehorse with her family in 1996 from Manitoba, and since them has become well-known in the Whitehorse community. Previous to working at Employment Central Lisa has worked in the retail, airline and transportation industries. Lisa is looking forward to helping our clients with their employment needs.
You might recognize this friendly face from Service Canada. For many years Judith worked at Service Canada, but after she finished up working at Service Canada Judith joined the Employment Central team as an Employment Assistant. She enjoys helping clients with their day-to-day needs. Her calm presence makes the Employment Central workplace a better place!
Max joined Employment Central in October 2017 as an Employment Counsellor. Max is originally from British Columbia and moved to the Yukon in 2012 with his family. Both in British Columbia and the Yukon, Max has seven years of experience in the human services field, most recently in the role of the supporting and assisting individuals to obtain their employment goals. Wendy joined the Employment Central team in 2016 where she works part-time as an Employment Counsellor. Wendy came to work in the Yukon in 2007, after completing an undergraduate degree at University of Western Ontario and a graduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University.
