We are looking for an Assistant Fleet Manager to assist with the dispatching of bulk fuel based out of Whitehorse, YT.

Assistant Fleet Manager may also be known as Dispatch Assistant, Dispatch Logistician, Assistant Service Manager, Assistant Operations Manager, Dispatch Support, Logistic Planner Assistant, Operations Coordinator, Dispatch Clerk and/or Assistant Dispatch Coordinator.

Specific Responsibilities/Skills

• Record mileage, fuel use, repairs and other expenses
• Receive requests for emergency assistance or service
• Operate computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment
• Efficient co-ordination of personnel and equipment according to schedules and work orders
• Dispatch personnel as required by emergency situations
• Assist with maintenance of communications equipment
• Advise vehicle operators of traffic and other problems
• Schedule assignments and co-ordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews and equipment
• Keep track of shipments
• Follow-up on issues with work orders
• Maintain vehicle operator work records
• Knowledge of cross border dispatching regulations and practices
• Knowledge of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations
• Ensure compliance with regulations, company policy and procedures

• Ensure accuracy of completed time sheets, payroll and other summaries
• Perform general office duties
• Monitor personnel workloads and locations
