Job Title: Fairness Coordinator
Department: Governance
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Salary: C/TFN Wage Scale 11 - 13 (dependent on experience)

JOB SUMMARY

The Fairness Coordinator is an independent officer of the Carcross Tagish First Nation Governments Executive Council, reporting directly to the Khà Shâde Héni, with support and day-to-day supervision from the Executive Director. The Fairness Coordinator will ensure a consistent and uniform approach to managing conflict arising from decision, actions or recommendations of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation Government.

To support this mandate, the Fairness Coordinator will be tasked with the development and implementation of a Conflict Management Policy; conduct 'fairness audits' of C/TFN programs and services; assess complaints/concerns and conduct enquiries; hold public meetings to inform Citizens about the role of the Fairness Coordinator and all aspects of the C/TFN conflict management framework.

QUALIFICATIONS (Candidate application/resumes should clearly demonstrate their related qualifications as selection for further consideration will be based on the information provided)

• High School Diploma and continuing education with course work in Public Administration, Indigenous Studies, Human Resources, and or Conflict Man-agement. A degree from a post-secondary institution will be considered an asset.
• Management level experience working with First Nations governments in a political and administrative capacity will be considered an asset
• Demonstrated excellent organizational and communication skills and experi-ence
• Knowledge of C/TFN history, cultural traditions and values
• Knowledge of C/TFN policies, practices and standards
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational, time management and analytical skills
• Ability to encounter and deal effectively with people from all walks of life
• Willingness to learn traditional and cultural practices of CTFN as applicable within our governance setting
• Strong interpersonal skills; tactful and courteous

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Must undertake and, maintain, a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check
• Valid Yukon Class 5 Driver's Licence
• Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends
