JOB TITLE: Medical Transportation Driver/Office Assistant            CLOSING DATE: Aug 24, 2018

STATUS: Permanent Full Time
SALARY: $46,820 - $64,132 / Annual

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Director, Health and Wellness, the Office Assistant/ Medical Transportation Driver is responsible for providing administrative services to the department, ensure reports and administrative work in relation to medical transportation is done and provides the medical transportation necessary for citizens as per the Non-Insured Health Benefits policy. The H&W Office Assistant/Medical Transportation Driver, where possible, is responsible for integrating the four elements of the Values and Virtues of Life (mental, emotional, spiritual and physical) into these services. The H&W Office Assistant/Medical Transportation Driver will ensure that these services reflect life's' four stages - child, youth, adult and elder. The H&W Office Assistant/Medical Transportation Driver must be willing to change with the ongoing evolution of C/TFN circle governance.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Relevant education with business or secretarial courses;
• In-depth knowledge of Carcross / Tagish First Nation traditions and heritage; history, culture, demographics, goals and aspirations;
• Excellent organizational skills or
• A combination of work experience and education.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Tactful, courteous, compassion and understanding
• Ability to foster trust and acceptance at the community level
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with other agencies and professionals in a variety of disciplines
• Ability to be a role model who can foster trust and acceptance at the community level
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work respectfully with others in a cross-cultural environment
• Ability to maintain sense of humour in stressful situations
• Energetic with a "can-do" attitude
• knowledge of Yukon First Nation organizations and citizens
• Ability to maintain positive staff working relationships

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
• Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance
• Must have a valid class 4 Yukon Driver's Licence, class 5 considered an asset
• Must provide a current Driver's Abstract
• Must have a minimum of (5) five years driving experience with a clean driving record free of Demerit Points
• Must be able to model and maintain sobriety and self-sufficiency
• Willingness to work flexible hours

 

No compensation will be given for moving costs and must be eligible to work in Canada.
