Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Salary: $97,330 - $122,449

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Haa Shaa du Hen/Khà Shâde Héni and Executive Council, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing the management of C/TFN Finance, Administration, and Human Resources activities.

Among other duties, the CFO will:

• Provide comptrollership functions in order to ensure finances are managed according to legislation, policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles for C/TFN and its Corporations and business interests
• Assume a lead role in analyzing and exploring means of reducing operating costs and increasing reve-nues based on knowledge of market trends, financial reports, and operating procedures.
• Annually, coordinate and assist with an appointed external auditor and present the findings of completed audits to Executive Council and General Council
• Work with our individual clan based teams with respect to ongoing development and review of policies and procedures
• Oversee operations of the Finance & HR department, set goals and objectives

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration
• Master's Degree in Business Administration will be considered an asset
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation will be considered an asset
• 5+ years' experience in finance industry and managing diverse teams
• Knowledge of C/TFN governance structure, processes and philosophies, history and culture
• Knowledge of First Nation governments and related financial arrangements
• Knowledge of property/infrastructure management and construction is considered an asset
• Proven leadership ability with capability to influence others and a professional approach
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, capable of troubleshooting operations
• Strong ability to exercise sound judgment
• Ability to engage staff at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work respectfully with others in a cross-cultural environment
• Ability to work with and manage confidential information and use independent judgment
• Experience in oversight of Human Resources is an asset

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• RCMP Criminal Record Check
• Valid class 5 Yukon driver's license
• Must be willing and able to travel both in and outside of Yukon
