is looking for an

Executive Manager (Succession Position)

This is a full time position.

The successful candidate will, over a three-month period, work under the direction of the Executive Manager who will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the Succession Plan. The Succession Plan will be developed in consideration of the Position requirements and the successful candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies. At the end of the three-month period, the successful candidate will be evaluated as to readiness to assume the responsibilities of the Executive Manager Position.

The Executive Manager is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in leading, planning, managing and implementing Teslin Tlingit programs and policies. The position is also responsible for the providing or managing the provision of administrative expertise in the Executive Office for both the Executive Council and the Executive Director.

The position is responsible for maintaining a close working relationship with the Executive Council and Management Board. The position is also responsible for effective liaison, on behalf of the Executive Director and Executive Council, with officials of the Federal, Territorial, Provincial Governments and other agencies in support of Teslin Tlingit goals and objectives.

• Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field combined with experience working with First Nations governments, preferably at a senior level
• Sound knowledge of TTC social structure, traditions, and cultural values
• Sound knowledge of government program requirements and specifically, First Nation government program requirements
• Knowledge of Federal and Territorial Government programs, regulations and procedures
• Financial management skills
• Administrative management skills including the ability to manage a busy office
• Ability to develop, implement and evaluate programs, policies and procedures
