Salary: Level 2 Step 1 ($23.98 per hour)

Reporting to the Nänkäk Chèholay (Land of Plenty) Caretaker, this position is responsible for assisting and working in partnership
with the Nänkäk Chèholay (Land of Plenty) Caretaker, TH Health & Social Staff and other Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Staff. The position is
responsible for assisting the Nänkäk Chèholay Caretaker as needed, in carrying out the caretaking activities and daily duties to
meet the camp needs.

SKILLS TO BE GAINED:
· Working and being comfortable in a rural camp setting;
· Basic survival skills;
· Use of small power and hand tools safely including generators, propane, etc.
· Basic maintenance of various tools;
· Communication skills (oral & interpersonal);
· Importance of cleanliness in rural areas such as camp kitchens/etc.;
· Basic knowledge of Sat Phones, InReach Devices, etc.;
· Knowledge, awareness and timeline importance of assisting in running a cultural/educational camp as a caretaker;
· Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with citizens & team members;
· Ability to work with the team to be flexible to unexpected program changes (i.e. weather, cancellations, etc.);
· Organizational and time management skills;
· Cross cultural awareness, sensitivity and understanding;
· A win-win approach to problem solving and conflict resolution;

Essential Qualifications:
· Must be an unemployed TH citizen;
· Experience living or working in a camp/outdoor setting;
· Experience or knowledge in working with First Nation citizens.
· Ability to participate in a team environment;
· Commitment to being a positive role model;
· Must be reliable and self-motivated.

Assets:
· Working and being comfortable in a rural camp setting;

· Use of and basic maintenance of small power and hand tools safely including generators, propane, etc.;
· Basic knowledge of Sat Phones, In Reach Devices, etc.;

Conditions of Employment:
· No alcohol or drug use is permitted at any TH camp site. Failure to meet this requirement will result in immediate dismissal;
· Criminal Records Check;
· Valid First Aid Certification and willingness to take Wilderness First Aid;
· Completion of Chainsaw Safety and Bear Aware courses or willingness to obtain;
· Must have own sleeping bag and other personal gear, including steel toed boots/shoes;
· Willingness to work flexible schedule; Thursday to Monday work schedule – Tuesday/Wednesdays off.
· Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clear driver's abstract;
· Must maintain a safe, clean and organized work and living environment.
