Position: Cultural Support Worker – Land Based Healing
Health & Wellness
Full Time Term until March 31, 2025

Kwanlin Dün First Nation (KDFN) is seeking a qualified Cultural Support Worker to join their Spiritual
& Mental Wellness team. Reporting to the Manager, Spiritual & Mental Wellness, the successful
candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive land-based care and cultural based after
care and other supports to adults, youth, Elders and families. The primary focus is on delivery of
culturally relevant land-based healing and aftercare withing the context of a continuum of care.

You will be a contributing team player, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be
familiar with Yukon services in the areas of mental health, addictions, trauma and violence. Pride in
providing quality services to clients and their families is expected.


? Significant experience with supporting individuals, families, and communities to access
   cultural teachings, ceremony and develop plans for traditional healing;
? Education in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or similar is an asset;
? Recent experience in community-based mental health and addictions related community
   outreach, prevention and aftercare support;
? Recent experience coordinating and facilitating cultural and land-based activities;
? Significant experience facilitating workshops and programming for groups;
? Recent experience in cultural, land based and clinical modalities in prevention, healing and
   aftercare support services is an asset;
? Experience working in a First Nation community is required.

Note: an equivalent combination of formal education and considerable experience in the above
areas may be considered.

Knowledge of Yukon First Nation Peoples' history with formal justice, residential and child welfare
systems and familiarity with Kwanlin Dün First Nation history, culture, goals and aspirations is
required for success in this position.

Conditions of employment: Class 4 driver's license; First Aid and CPR; acceptable pre-employment
criminal record and vulnerable sector search; TDG, Food Safe Level 1;

Job Requirements: Willingness to work "shift-work," including weekends and holidays, including
response to after hour emergencies; ability to lead and participate in outdoor recreation and
traditional land based activities (physically fit).

Salary: $61,315.80 – $78,840.33 per annum (Level 5) plus benefits
