Position: Labour Relations Specialist
Department: Finance, HR Unit
Term: Full Time Continuing
Start: ASAP

KDFN Human Resources is seeking a Labour Relations Specialist to support department managers and supervisor with staff and labour relation matters. This newly established position assists with policy interpretation and implementation and is responsible for supporting a full range of integrated human resource services to the KDFN including recruitment and selection activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing and competing multiple projects, have excellent research and communication skills. They will be able to work successfully in an environment with changing deadlines and priorities, will have the proven ability to work as part of a dynamic team. Experience coaching, providing training and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required for success. This is not a developmental opportunity.

· Diploma in Human Resources Management or a related discipline, combined with considerable current experience providing a broad range human resource, employment and labour relations support;
· Solid understanding of human resource practices, related legislation with specific experience in jurisprudence theory and labour relations practices;
· Experience applying & interpreting variety of human resource and labour specific legislation and policy, preferably in a federally regulated work environment;
· Experience supporting management with staff performance management and discipline;
· Experience conducting investigations, performing mediation and conflict resolution;
· Experience leading recruitment & selection activities;
· Familiarity with restorative justice dispute resolution processes is an asset.

Knowledge of lateral violence, trauma and trauma informed practice is important in the role.

Kwanlin Dün First Nation history, community, culture and tradition, demographics, goals and aspirations are required for success and may be assessed further.

An equivalent combination of post-secondary coursework, industry training & workshops, and considerable experience in the areas identified above will be considered.

Conditions of Employment: Class 5 driver's license and personal transportation; an acceptable criminal record check is required

Salary: $76,531 to $95,841 per annum, plus a generous benefits package
